Energy bites make for a great travel snack so pack them for a long day at school or as fuel before a big game. Despite their size, they’re loaded with healthy fats, a touch of sweetness, protein and fibre, so you’ll be sure to satisfy any sweet tooth or curb that mid-afternoon hunger.

Directions

Step 1 

In a medium bowl, mix together almond butter and maple syrup until smooth.

Step 2 

Add pumpkin puree, oats, pumpkin pie spice, salt, chia seeds, and pumpkin seeds and mix until combined.

Step 3 

Roll mixture into 10 balls about 1 tablespoon each. Allow to set in fridge for 30 minutes so they can firm up.

Step 4 

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for a grab and go snack.

Tips & Variations

  • To make this recipe gluten free, make sure you are using gluten free rolled oats.

  • To make this recipe nut free, use a seed butter in place of the almond butter.

  • These energy bites can be frozen.
