Bet you never thought you could make vegetables into healthy chips! Give these kale chips a try, but beware, they are very addicting!
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Remove the kale leaves from the stems of the kale and tear it into large pieces. Wash the leaves and dry completely.
Add the kale leaves to a large bowl and add the oil. Massage the leaves with the oil until evenly coated. Sprinkle the spices on top and toss to combine.
Layer kale leaves evenly onto the prepared baking sheet making sure not to overlap the leaves. This will help them get crispy. You may need to bake the kale leaves in 2 batches, depending on the size of your baking sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes before rotating the baking sheet and baking for another 8 to 10 minutes or until the kale shrinks and becomes crisp.
Repeat with the remaining kale leaves if you could not fit them all on one baking sheet. Allow the kale chips to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving.
These kale chips do not store well and will lose their crispiness per time. They are best enjoyed immediately.
*Add whichever flavourings and spices you like best. These taste great with grated parmesan!
