Dessert made healthy? You better believe it! These fruit skewers are drizzled with chocolate, because well… it’s chocolate. Enough said. So refreshing for summer get-together’s when you want something quick, easy, and delicious. Use fresh fruit in season OR canned fruit any time of year!
Melt chocolate in the microwave or over a double boiler (see tips and variations). If using a microwave, microwave for 1 minute at a time, stirring after each minute. When it starts melting, microwave for 30 seconds each time to avoid burning the chocolate.
Skewer fruit. Layer 1 of each fruit on each skewer. Repeat until all of the fruit is used up.
Prepare dip by combining yogurt and maple syrup in a bowl.
Drizzle chocolate over completed skewers. Enjoy with yogurt dip.
A double boiler is a great way to melt chocolate! Place a pot on the stove over medium high heat with a couple inches of boiling water. Place a metal or heatproof bowl on top of the pot so that it is suspended over the boiling water without touching. Place your chocolate in the bowl and let the steam from the boiling water melt it! Stir until melted. Remember to never let water get in your chocolate or it will cause it to seize up.
