Fall is APPLE SEASON! So let’s celebrate with an Apple Crisp. Baking fresh fruit with a topping that uses less sugar keeps the nutritional benefits and doesn’t skimp on flavour. You can also swap in other fruits like blueberries or peaches.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a bowl, make the crumble topping by mixing together the oats, flour, maple syrup, oil, vanilla, and salt. Set aside while you prepare your filling.
Peel and core apples before cutting into 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices. You should have about 7 cups of sliced apples.
Place apples in the baking dish and mix with brown sugar, vanilla, and cornstarch. Crumble the topping evenly over top.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until the topping is golden. Allow to cool for 30 minutes to 1 hour before enjoying.
Try using other fruit- This recipe works great with summer berries or peaches!
