Sometimes we need a bit of chocolate in the morning, and this granola is a great excuse! Making granola is easier than you would think, and is a great family activity!
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
In a large bowl, combine the maple syrup, oil, cocoa powder, and mashed banana. Mix until well combined.
Add the oats, seeds, and hemp hearts to the wet ingredients and stir until everything has been moistened.
Empty mixture onto the baking sheet and gently distribute evenly. Do not press the mixture into the baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes. Stir granola gently to break up larger pieces and redistribute the oats. Bake for another 15 to 20 minutes or until the granola feels dry.
Allow to cool completely before enjoying with milk or yogurt and your favourite fruit!
If dairy free, use dairy free chocolate chips
If gluten free, use gluten free rolled oats
