Tropical Granola

Delicious crunchy granola with a tropical twist! This will become a favourite in your house. Making granola at home is a great way to keep it lower in sugar and fat.

Directions

Step 1 

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.

Step 2 

Add the maple syrup and apple sauce to a large bowl. Add the oats, almonds, and coconut and stir to combine.

Step 3 

Empty the mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so until the granola is lightly golden in colour. It should feel dry to the touch. Remove from oven and let cool.

Step 4 

Store granola in a sealed container. Serve with yogurt, milk, and your favourite fruit!

Tips & Variations

  • *Use any type of unsweetened apple sauce, the tropical will give it an extra flavour boost!

  • *Chop raw whole almonds, or use slivered or sliced almonds.
