This delicious baked french toast will become an instant family favourite! Prepare it the night before, and your brunch will be ready before you know it. This brunch makes a great special meal for any family holiday! Top with your favourite toppings.
Grease a baking dish with butter or margarine.
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Add maple syrup and vanilla.
Layer bread into the baking dish, overlapping slightly.
Pour the milk mixture over the bread evenly. Cover and let sit overnight (or for at least 1 hour) for the bread to soak up the liquid.
In the morning, preheat oven to 375˚F (190˚C).
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes uncovered or until the French toast is golden.
Serve with your favourite toppings! We used plain Greek yogurt, a drizzle of maple syrup, and strawberries!
* To make this dairy free, make sure you are using a dairy free milk alternative like almond, soy, or oat milk, and do not use yogurt as a topping.
