Many foods that we consume on a regular basis may be much higher in sugar than you think.
Sugar can be found naturally in some healthy foods (like fruit, some vegetables, and unsweetened dairy products). It can also be added to foods (like baked goods, candy, flavoured yogurt and cereals).
Sugar is not the bad guy of course, but we should try to limit added sugar.
So how much sugar is too much?
It is recommended that we aim for less than 52 grams (13 teaspoons) of added sugar per day (Remember, added sugar means sugar that is added to foods).
